This Data Protection Notice summarises how applicant information is collected in stages and protected throughout the Tinubulight journey. It should be read together with the full Privacy Policy.

Initial application
Contact, business, location, CAC or TIN status, current energy use and calculator information are collected to create and assess the application.
Identity and business verification
NIN, accepted identity documents, photographs, proof of address, CAC or TIN records and other evidence are requested through the protected dashboard only when relevant.
Financing and installation
Bank information, statements, BVN where formally required, deposit, repayment, equipment and installation records are processed for the applicable review and service stage.
Data minimisation
Tinubulight aims to request information in proportion to the current stage. Sensitive identity or financial records are not required merely to browse the website or use the calculator.
Access controls
Staff access is separated by role. Application managers, verification officers, support officers and reporting officers receive different permissions. Sensitive downloads and values are limited to authorised roles and important access is recorded in bounded security logs.
Protection of critical information
- Critical values are encrypted where the approved server encryption method is available.
- Saved NIN, BVN, account and identity numbers are masked in normal views.
- Protected documents are not published as ordinary public attachments.
- Ordinary CSV exports exclude sensitive identity, banking, document and internal-note data.
- Public tracking excludes NIN, bank details, uploaded files and other private information.
Retention and deletion
Application, verification, financing, installation, support and security records are retained according to their purpose, the stage of the programme, legal requirements, fraud-prevention needs and dispute or audit obligations. Records no longer required will be deleted, anonymised or removed from routine access, subject to lawful backup cycles.
Your rights and human review
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, portability where applicable and human review of a significant solely automated decision. Calculator recommendations are indicative and do not replace human technical or financing review.
